Once upon a time in Riau, there lived a mother with her three children. The oldest is Bujang Perotan, the second is Bujang Pengil, and the youngest is Bujang Buta. He was given the name Bujang Buta, because he was blind. The three children have different personalities. Even though he was blind, Bujang Buta was the kindest child. When his siblings were busy playing, Bujang Buta always helped his mother.

One day, their mother asked them to go to the forest to collect firewood. Bujang Perotan and Bujang Pengil agreed to help. Mother and Bujang Buta didn't know that Bujang Perotan and Bujang Pengail were planning something bad. They wanted to leave Bujang Buta alone in the forest.

“Bujang Buta, stay here under this tree. Bujang Pengail and I will look for wood elsewhere. Wait for us and we will go home together,” said Bujang Perotan.

Then, Bujang Buta waited for hours. His brothers didn't show up either. Bujang Buta was very scared. He tries to walk. He couldn't find his wand. His brothers hid him. Suddenly, he stepped on something.

"What's this? I think it's a fruit. Hmm... looks like a mango. Yummy!"

Bujang Buta then enjoyed the fruit. He is very happy to eat mangoes. He is very hungry. He ate the mango so fast that he made a mistake. He accidentally swallowed the seeds until his eyes bulged. Amazingly, the incident made his eyes see. He is no longer blind. However, that happiness soon ended after he saw that there was a monkey and a tiger in front of him. He was terrified. He wanted to escape.

"Don't be afraid, my friend. We won't hurt you," said the tiger.

“We know everything. We know you're a good kid. We want to help you. Take this rope and stick. You will need it someday to help you,” said the monkey.

Bujang Buta accepted the objects. After thanking him, Bujang Buta then continued his journey. He wants to go home.

On his way home, he met some people. They told him that the king's daughter was captured by the elephant king. No one dared to let him go because the king had huge elephants as his army, that's why he was called the king of elephants. Bujang Buta wanted to release the princess. With ropes and sticks, he fought bravely against the elephants and won the fight. Then he released the princess and brought her back to the palace. The king was very happy, he then asked Bujang Buta to stay in the palace and marry his daughter.

Bujang Buta was very happy, he immediately went home to ask his mother to live with him in the palace. Bujang Buta did not have feelings of hatred towards his brothers. He forgave them and also asked them to stay in the palace. His brother deeply regretted their bad behavior. They promise to be nice.
